Biography

Born into a family of musicians, Amani Sélé learned to sing before she learned to write. At twenty she left Yaoundé for Montreal, where she met the jazz musicians who would form her first band.

Since then, five albums, three continents, and always the same question: how do you make a voice from a village without electricity heard in a modern concert hall?
